Lets talk about Oils and why we ues them on our hair

PURE AND TRUE SALLYANNES 100% NATURAL COCONUT OIL

According the Journal of Cosmetic Science, there are a few oils that penetrate the hair strand and my favorite is coconut oil. The journal goes on to say that coconut oil is best used as a pre-wash treatment vs. an oil to seal in moisture.

The absolute best moisturizer for hair is water! Water based products have water/aqua listed as a primary ingredient and generally do not contain proteins, lanolin, mineral oil or petroleum jelly – grease. They may also include glycerin or some type of humectant that attract moisture from the air.
A sealer or sealant is a product that is applied to the hair to “trap in” the moisturizer that has been applied. A sealer is not a penetrating product. It is a product that sits on top of the hair.
Sealants can be heavy oils like Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, or Olive Oil from your kitchen cabinet. Sealants can also be various other products like grease, petroleum jelly, mineral oil or lanolin. These products are sealers because they sit on top of the hair strand.
In essence, the purpose of the sealer is to keep the hair from drying out so fast. The sealer that works best for my hair is SallyAnne 100% Natural coconut oil
